The pits. This is the target end of the rifle range. The numbered carriages on the right contain the targets the shooters aim at. Students working in the pitts stand on the other side of these targets with their backs to the range. There is a dirt and concrete berm that you can't see which protects us from an errant round. When we see a bullet impact on the berm behind the targets (to the left in this pic) we pull the target down, insert a spotter disk in the hole and run it back up to show them where they hit. Posted by Hello
